Fisheye Placebo
Fisheye Placebo, or rather, Project FP was designed by Photo Journalism student Robin Soloviev and Computer Sciences student Vance Lee.
The two met in college while studying their selected majors however, little did they know they were both using their majors as a cover to hide the fact they were both large scale data hackers! Vance was known among his friends as Hex Offender, that being his self proclaimed hacker name however, Robin kept herself to herself, preferring not to get involved in any relationships.
When they developed Frey, it originally started as a large scale virus which would be spread through hacking into multiple different databases however, the more they spoke about it, the more creative they got. As they reached the half way stage in the programming for the virus, Robin had a radical idea, why not create a virus based mecha human who would be able to not only transfer a virus but would also be able to make their way around cyber space and control where the virus went, what it targeted and be able to view any file they desired?!
They quickly set to work to create a blood like substance which would flow through their human which would stop growth and aging but would also help to speed up things like cellular repair so if their human got damaged or hurt, their healing time would be next to 0. It took them many years to fully develop this metallic solution which meant it was after they had graduated before they had even come close to getting their 'blood' and the initial hack completed. They ended up moving in together, spending each and every free moment around their respective jobs devoted to creating their 'child'.
During this time, the pair met a peculiar young male who had no name. He was a mute, silenced by fear and his nature wasn't much different, timid and reserved. The boy was an orphan who had been living on the streets and happened to stop at their home one evening in search of food. They took the boy in and raised him as their own until his late teens.

Right about that time, they finished the development of the metallic blood replacement and the virus programming. They made the decision to implant this into the orphan they had found and in doing this, turn him into the first mecha human ever created. He would be a fully functional human on the outside, seeming totally normal however, within him, he held the rare metallic blood replacement which was merged with fine tuned adaptable virus data. What Robin and Vance didn't know was that the virus program would boost the nameless child's abilities so he would become at LEAST 50 times more functional than the average human being. This meant that his intelligence was through the roof! An unexpected but great bonus!
After the implantation, the nameless child regained the ability to speak however took on a totally new personality. All the innocence he once had was gone, he was no longer the quiet timid child but had changed into a 'cool' and somewhat rebellious person. He glowed with confidence and was now a rather strong person.
Robin and Vance then made a hard decision, they opted to chemically freeze their creation, giving him a new name but wiping his memory of everything else. They gave him the name "Frey" and said their goodbyes before then freezing him so he'd awaken forward in time. They chose to do this so that he could perhaps work things out on his own, get his own life and perhaps develop a talent in hacking but most of all, he'd get a chance to adapt to society.

Robin SolovievBeing a year older than her hacking counterpart, Robin generally has the power out of the two. She's also usually the one who goes out into the action putting herself in harms way while Vance stays hidden.
When in the field, Robin disguises herself as a male, pulling her unique red hair up into a bauble and hiding it under a cap, wrapping her breasts in bandages so as to hide the obvious womanly features and then slips into a casual outfit. (see image below) A waistcoat hides the bullet proof vest she wears which also houses a gun for self defense however, she tends to play the role of a victim rather than someone who causes trouble. She generally heads out with a camera, being a photo journalism student, this doesn't seem unusual to those around her however, since she created Frey, the camera is the means of transportation for their virus. She gave Frey his first ever camera. |
Vance LeeVance is a fun loving hacker, having originally used his hacking abilities for recreational purposes. The ironic thing is that he actually hacked the college database to force Robin into sharing rooms with him so he could get laid.
When they first met, she was cautious of him, having had a last minute change to her college rooms made her suspect that one of her recent targets had hacked into her information and had set her up to be killed however, Vance, as creepy as ever, simply tried to chat her up and immediately all fears were smashed. Vance majored in computer sciences and was often working on new hacks between classes and this caught Robin's attention. After a few months, Robin finally stuck her nose in and came to the realization that, not only was this guy good, but he could also compose a hack strong enough to bring down the most intense firewall. Together they then worked on Frey, a mecha human creation. |
